KING AND QUEEN OF SWEDEN TO VISIT PHILADELPHIA

Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden

 

What: Mayor Nutter will welcome King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden to Philadelphia on the 375th

Anniversary of the founding of the New Sweden colony.

 

During the two-day visit, Their Majesties will be officially welcomed by Mayor Nutter at City Hall. They will tour the Barnes Foundation on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the American Swedish Historical Museum.  On Saturday, May 11th, Their Majesties will attend a Symposium on ‘Making It In America’ at the Independence Seaport Museum with the Speaker of Parliament of Finland, Mr. Eero Olavi Heinäluoma.

 

Where: Conversation Hall, Room 201 City Hall, Broad & Market Streets

 

When:  Friday, May 10, 2013                       Event Time: 1:45pm – 2:20pm   

 

Note to Editors/Planners: Media must RSVP in advance of the event for security planning.  Deadline to RSVP is 12:00pm (noon) Thursday, May 9th.
