August 10, 2013 – Philadelphia Streets Department Commissioner David Perri, PE announced that the Willow Grove Avenue bridge between St Martins Lane and Seminole Street will be closed today, Saturday, August 10, 2013, to Eastbound traffic. The bridge will still be open to westbound traffic with a 3 ton posting.
Structural damage was found during a routine inspection by the Streets Department. The bridge will be partially closed to vehicular traffic for approximately 3 weeks while repairs are made to the structure. The repairs to the bridge will not affect operations of the St. Martins train station. Pedestrians and bicycles will be permitted to cross the bridge.
The posted detour route will utilize Gravers Lane from St Martins Lane to Seminole Street.
