Staff from the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management will lead a Personal and Family Preparedness Workshop for Easter Seals families at 10:00 a.m. The Philadelphia Fire Department, Philadelphia Police Department and American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania will present during the workshop, also.
Following the workshop, Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Everett Gillison and Deputy Managing Director for Emergency Management Samantha Phillips will kick off the ceremony recognizing Easter Seals of Southeastern Pennsylvania for partnering with the Office of Emergency Management and first response agencies during National Preparedness Month. Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers and Katie D. Parsell of the American Red Cross will participate in the ceremony, as well.
Rhonisha Franklin from Target will present checks to the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Office of Emergency Management. Thanks to the generosity of Target, the Office of Emergency Management will donate 450 Red Cross “Go Bags” — emergency supply kits that you can “grab and go” when evacuating — to Easter Seals for family and staff.
First response agencies and vehicles will be on display in the parking lot after the ceremony. FEMA, The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia, the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Police and Fire departments, and the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management will participate in the Preparedness Fair.
