MAYOR NUTTER, DEPUTY MAYOR GREENBERGER TO HIGHLIGHT GROWTH OF PHILLY TECH COMMUNITY

WHAT:          Mayor Nutter and Deputy Mayor Greenberger will highlight the growth and success of the technology sector in Philadelphia by visiting four dynamic technology companies to open new or expanded offices and to meet with leading entrepreneurs and their employees.  The Nutter Administration, in partnership with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation is committed to supporting the growth of startups in Philadelphia through initiatives such as Startup PHL.  The growth of Arcweb, OneTwoSee, Medical Guardian and PeopleLinx is indicative of the growing strength of the Philadelphia technology and startup community.

Ribbon cutting for new office for Arcweb, a software company founded in Philadelphia, currently employing 25 people and growing.  The company started at Indy Hall, a co-working space, and recently moved to its own space.

OneTwoSee, 1650 Arch St, Suite 1810

Ribbon cutting for OneTwoSee, a technology company that creates products to engage the TV sports audience.  Recently moved out of Seed Philly and closed a $1.3m round of funding.

12:00-12:20pm

Medical Guardian, 1818 Market St, Suite 1200

Medical Guardian provides a medical alert system to 200,000 clients and currently employs 100 people.  The company is expanding its presence at 1818 Market to accommodate rapid growth.

12:30- 1:00pm

PeopleLinx, 1835 Market St, Suite 1105

Mayor Nutter will participate in a ‘fireside chat’ with PeopleLinx founder Patrick Baynes and employees of this Center City startup.
