CITY OF PHILADELPHIA AND KIVA.ORG TO LAUNCH PARTNERSHIP TO FUEL ECONOMIC GROWTH

Partnership aims to accelerate small business development in Philadelphia through crowdfunding loans to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs

WHAT:          A new initiative—Kiva City Philadelphia—will bring 0% interest crowdfunded loans to entrepreneurs struggling to find capital to start or expand their small businesses.  Through Kiva City Philadelphia anyone who cares about small business growth and local job creation can lend $5 or more to the entrepreneur of their choice on Kiva.org/Philadelphia. The initiative is a partnership of Kiva Zip, Philadelphia’s Department of Commerce and other area groups advancing community revitalization through entrepreneurship.
