MAYOR NUTTER ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE OF CHIEF INTEGRITY OFFICER

Philadelphia, June 23, 2015 – Mayor Michael A. Nutter announced the departure of Hope Caldwell, the City of Philadelphia’s Chief Integrity Officer, who will become the Associate Director of Compliance at Princeton University.  Ms. Caldwell became the City’s second Chief Integrity Officer, taking over after Joan Markman’s departure in January 2014.

“Hope’s creativity in developing ethics-based programming like Integrity Week, a series of events designed to increase City of Philadelphia employees’ familiarity with ethics regulations, has been very effective in promoting the work of her office.  The role of Chief Integrity Officer in Philadelphia is a model for other cities to emulate as they seek to increase public confidence in the operations and standards of local government,” said Mayor Nutter.

At Princeton University, Caldwell will spearhead the University’s efforts to build a compliance program.

Stephanie Tipton, Deputy Chief Integrity Officer, will take over as Acting Chief Integrity Officer for the remainder of Mayor Nutter’s term.
